Updates machinery to more energy-efficient models.
On Thursday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that they are distributing $5.4 million to replace old diesel engines in tribal communities. The grants are distributed through the Diesel Emissions Reduction (DERA) program. This week, the Prarie Band Potowatomi Nation was awarded $489,155 to replace their short-haul dump truck and their fire department water tanker.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan stated, “The Biden administration continues to work with tribal nations across the country to replace or upgrade older, higher-polluting diesel engines, making important progress in reducing pollution and advancing environmental justice across the country.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Administrator Regan to seek God’s wisdom as he heads the EPA.
- For discernment for EPA officials as they implement pollution reduction programs.
- For the president and his administration as they establish policies to address the environment and climate.
